A bench comprising Chief Justice D B Bhosale and Justice Yashwant Varma also asked the Uttar Pradesh government to submit a status report on the work completed by various departments for the Ardh Kumbh within six weeks.
It passed the order on a PIL filed by Srikant Tripathi of Allahabad.
Additional Advocate General Ajit Kumar Singh informed the bench that UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently laid down the foundation stone of various development projects and funds have also been released for the same.
The matter has now been fixed for further hearing on October 25, 2017.
The Ardh Kumbh is a religious congregation held after every six years at Haridwar and Allahabad where millions of people take a holy dip in the Ganga river.
