HCC employee killed, another injured in mishap

An employee of Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) died while another was injured in a mishap at a tunnel construction site in Uri sector of north Kashmir, police said.
The HCC employees were hit by a rock during construction work at National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) tunnel Phase II at Uri, 101 kms from here, yesterday, a police spokesman said.
Santoor Singh of Reasi and Mohammad Sharief Batla of Bimyar were rushed to hospital where Singh succumbed to injuries, He said.
A case has been registered and further investigations are on, the spokesman said.
