Health centre official suspended after death of 4 children

A health assistant at a village primary health centre here was suspended in connection with the recent death of four children there, official sources said today.
S R Ravankar, the health officer of Ruikher primary health centre at Khirkund village in the district's Akot taluka, was suspended yesterday following the death of four children, aged 5 to 10 years, due to fever last week in the tribal-dominated village, district zila parishad officials said.
The zila parishad's chief executive officer also issued show cause notices to two medical officers of the centre, two health supervisors and two women health assistants in connection with the deaths.
