Health Min deputes 3 teams to review public health measures in

The Union Health Ministry has deputed three teams which will review public health measures in flood-ravaged Uttarakhand.
The central public health teams have been assigned to Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh and Udhamsingh Nagar, according to a statement by the Ministry.
A three-member team from National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience, Bangalore is en route to join the psycho-social relief work being carried out in the state and five Medical Officers from CGHS, Kanpur have also reached Dehradun today, the statement said.
The total number of GDMOs (General Duty Medical Officer) posted there now stands at 38, it said.
Forty senior residents/specialists in the fields of Medicine, Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology from central government hospitals and Government of NCT of Delhi will leave for Uttarakhand tomorrow, it said.

A three-member high level team from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is stationed in Dehradun and coordinating with the state health authorities.
10 lakh chlorine tablets have been delivered to the state along with 7 essential drugs. A request from the state for 2 crore chlorine tablets, 100 metric tonnes of bleaching powder and 3 lakh ORS packets is being processed for despatch, it said.
The government had said there were no reports of outbreak of food, air or water borne diseases in the flood-ravaged state and the situation was being monitored.
