Hearing on petition seeking case aganst Pak PM adjourned
Press Trust of India Ambala A local court today adjourned the hearing to August 6 on a petition filed against Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accusing him of hatching a conspiracy to provoke riots in Jammu and Kashmir.
Anti-Terrorists Front of India (ATFI) President Viresh Shandilya had filed the petition against Sharif a fortnight ago for allegedly provoking the people of Jammu & Kashmir and offering support to the separatists of the state.
The court asked the counsel of ATFI Sandeep Sachdeva to explain how summon would be served to Pakistan PM since he is a foreign national. The counsel said it could be served through the Pakistan High Commission in India.
The court also raised the question on the locus standi. The petitioner's counsel stated that under section 121 of the IPC, his client can file petition against anyone for waging or attempting to wage war or abetting waging of war against the government of India.
