Delhi witnessed a severe hot and dry day with the maximum temperature settling at 42.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal. The minimum was also recorded a notch above the season's average at 25.7 degrees Celsius.
The humidity levels oscillated between 43 and 25 per cent.
The MeT officials in Delhi have predicted clear sky along with the possibility of dust storms in some areas tomorrow.
Heat wave also continued to sweep most parts of Punjab and Haryana today, with Hisar turning out to be the hottest place at 43 degrees Celsius.
Among other places in Haryana, Bhiwani recorded the maximum at 42.8 degrees C, Karnal at 42 degrees C, four notches above normal and Narnaul at 41 degrees Celsius.
Ambala had a high of 40.4 degrees C, up by two notches above normal.
In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their maximum at 41.2 degrees C, 41.6 degrees C and 41 degress Celsius, respectively.
Chandigarh recorded its maximum at 40.4 degrees Celsius, up by two notches above normal.
