Heavy rain, snowfall likely in HP next week

The mercury is likely to drop in Himachal Pradesh with heavy rain and snowfall predicted in parts of the state next week.
The local MeT office said heavy rain and snowfall are likely on December 11 and 12 and the wet spell may continue till December 15.
An active fresh Western Disturbance over the region may lead to precipitation at many places in the state on December 11 an 12, MeT office director Manmohan Singh said.
Meanwhile, dry weather conditions prevailed in the region while gusty winds lashed the mid and higher hills.
There was no significant change in minimum temperatures but maximum temperatures dropped by two degrees Celsius at several places.
Manali and Bhuntar recorded a low of 0 and 2 degrees, Kalpa 3, Sundernagar 3.5, Una 5, Solan 5.5, Palampur and Dharamsala 7.5, Shimla 8.9 and Nahan 9 degrees Celsius.
