The downpour was heavy in Bharkheda, Anvi, Shelgaon, Kandari, Rajewadi and Ujjainpuri villages for two hours, even as winds damaged the sweetlime crop.
Villagers ran to safer places after their houses were damaged and dozens of trees were uprooted, even as one Laxman Eknathrao Madan sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, the administration recorded 84 mm rain and officials rushed to the affected area to take stock of the situation, even as the revenue department assessed damaged in 330 villages of the district.
Sources said that crops in 550 villages of Jalna district have been damaged.
So far, officials have visited 330 villages and made crop damage assessment reports, sources said.
