Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in Odisha

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to pound some places of Odisha by tomorrow under the influence of a low pressure area formed over the region today.
Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood, a low pressure area has formed over the region this morning, the Meteorological centre here said.
Rain and thundershower would occur at most places over Odisha during the next two days under its influence, it said.
Similarly, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places over south Odisha, while heavy rainfall at one or two places over north Odisha would occur during next 24 hours, the met office said.

Gusty surface wind speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph and gusting to 55 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha Coast, it said advising fishermen to be cautious while venturing into the sea.
