All the seven companies, including the state-run Pawan Hans, ferrying pilgrims to the shrine have suspended their services in view of the monsoon season, Rudraprayag District Magistrate Neeraj Kherwal said.

The helicopter services will resume in September, he added.

Kedarnath, which is among the four Himalayan shrines collectively known as Chardham, is situtated at a height of 3581 mt in Garhwal Himalayas and one has to undertake an arduous trek of 14 km to reach the shrine.
