Khum Kala, 45, expressed happiness over the sentencing of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar for murdering her husband Hemraj along with the dentist couple's 14-year-old daughter Arushi in 2008.
"Today I feel I have won a huge battle. I am now hopeful that I can begin a new life," she told Republica newspaper.
"I was so excited, I couldn't even share the news which I had been waiting for so long with my ailing son Prajwal and my old mother-in-law," said Kala talking to the daily.
Kala said she was expecting death sentence for the Talwar couple but was happy that justice has been finally done to her.
"It has now been proven that my husband was innocent," said Kala.
Kala hails from a poor family in Dharapani Village in Arghakhachi district of western Nepal.
Her husband Hemraj went to India in 2008 to find work so that he can educate his son and daughter.
