Vij today visited Morni Hill along with senior officers of Forests and AYUSH Department and explored all possibilities in this direction.
He said that a theme garden would be made to plant saplings of ayurvedic medicines. The saplings to be planted in these gardens would be based on treating the diseases in different body parts of human.
The Minister said that 'Chetna Kendras' would be set up in the forest to provide information to all visitors and they would also get herbs for the treatment of their diseases.
Water would be taken from Ghagar River to provide adequate water to plants and arrangement of dip irrigation system would be made.
For this, small bridges and check dams would be constructed for water conservation. Also, fences would be placed on all sides to save plants from wild animals, activities of anti-social elements and to conserve the herbal plants.
Vij said that all aspects have been considered for setting up World Herbal Forest at Morni Hill, but it would be finalised after the visit of Haryana's brand ambassador of Yoga and Ayurveda, Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishan.
The Minister said that the proposed World Herbal Forest by Haryana Government would be first of its kind in the world in which all kinds of medicinal plants and herbs would be planted. This forest would not only attract cultural tourism, but would also serve as medical tourism for doctors throughout the world working in the field of Ayurveda.
These doctors would be able to use all types of herbs planted in this forest as per their need, he added.
