Heroin seized in Aizawl, three arrested

Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officials seized 42 gms of heroin in Aizawl worth around Rs 1.68 lakh in the local market in the past 24 hours, the department spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said three women - Zohmangaihi (31), of Aizawl, Lalhriatpuii (39) and Lalthapari (50) both residents of Mizoram-Myanmar border Zokhawthar village in Champhai district, were arrested in this connection.
The contraband was reportedly smuggled from Myanmar via Champhai district and the accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
