Hero Hockey India League (HHIL) today appointed New Zealand's Craig Gribble as the Lead Umpires Manager for the 2015 edition of the franchise-based event.
According to a HHIL release, this will be the second time Gribble will be donning the hat in the tournament.
Speaking on Gribble's appointment HHIL CEO, Elena Norman said, "We welcome back Craig Gribble to the league this year. We are happy that he has agreed to be associated with HHIL yet again this year and his presence will add the much required boost to the umpire's line-up in the tournament."
Excited on being associated with HHIL once again, Gribble said, "I am extremely delighted to be connected to Hero HIL yet again. My first year with the tournament was an excellent experience where I got an opportunity to work with the appointed umpires and officiating board and I am even more excited for my second term with them.
"The fine combination of India's home and international players continues to amaze me and I can hardly wait for the event to begin," he added.
The 48-year-old Gribble is presently working as the Technical Manager for Hockey New Zealand. He has conducted a number of events over the recent years in this capacity.
Gribble has also been a part 2010 Commonwealth Games, two Champions Trophy tournaments in 2011 and 2012, two Olympic Qualification Tournaments in 2012, 2012 London Olympic Games and 2013 FIH World League Semi-finals in Rotterdam.
He has been working as an international umpires manager since 2007 after retiring from international umpiring in 2006. He stood in a total of 48 Test matches from 1997-2006.
