Addressing a press conference here, state BJP general secretary Rajiv Bindal said Shandil, who was himself a retired army officer, must resign from CWC membership and quit all other party posts on moral grounds.
"The alleged involvement of son of a CWC member, who has himself remained member of important Defence committees was a serious matter as a Court of Inquiry had already been initaited by the army against Lt Col Sanjay Shandil," he said.
Bindal said family members of anyone having links with a person suspected to be a spy, cannot be entrusted with any responsibility that could pose a security risk.
He said framing of charges against Virbhadra Singh as Union cabinet minister and the alleged links of Lt Col Sanjay Shandil with a Bangladeshi spy have caused embarrassment to the people of the hill state.
