Himachal registered traders to get Group Accidental Insurance

The state government has signed an agreement with National Insurance Company to provide Group Accidental Insurance coverage to all registered traders, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said here today.
Presiding over the Traders Welfare Board meeting, he said the scheme would be implemented byDivisional Manager National Insurance Company, Shimla.
Referring to the demands of the traders, Singh said the government had imposed entry tax on the purchase of online goods and reduced the entertainment tax on ropeways and cinema halls from 25 and 20 per cent respectively to 10 per cent.
He said facility has been provided to the traders to submit Provisional Registration Certificates within three working days under the VAT rule and provision made for filing the combined return of Value Added Tax (VAT), Central Sales Tax (CST) and entry Tax.
He said the government is considering promoting electric operated vehicles so as to ensure pollution-free environment and has decided to give tax exemptions on such vehicles.
The tax rate on LED lights had also been slashed to five per cent, he said.
The Chief Minister said camps and workshops would be organised for traders and business community separately for making them understand the intricacies of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
He said 'Help desk' would also be set up to facilitate the traders and educate them on GST.
