Rakesh, who has a total of Rs 29,000 reward on his arrest, was arrested by the crime branch of Gautam Buddha Nagar and Dadri police in a joint operation. A country made pistol, two live cartridges were recovered from him, police said.
There are at least 37 cases registered against him at various police stations at Delhi, Noida, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Dadri, Kasna and Ghaziabad for robbery, murder and other crimes, police said.
Rakesh had killed a man at Hapur court on April 2 last year. On September 23, 2013, he had robbed Rs 14 lakh from Tyagi petrol pump near Samtel factory. On July 16, at Bairangpur Nai Basti village, he had killed Jitender alias Jite. He had also attacked a police team on August 4 night in Surajpur police station area.
