Honda Motorcycle & Scooter sales up 2% in August

However, company's motorcycle sales declined 17%

Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today reported a 1.86 per cent increase in total sales at 3,95,262 units in August.

The company had sold 3,88,016 units in the corresponding month last year, HMSI said in a statement.

HMSI's motorcycle sales, however, declined 17.41 per cent to 1,26,452 units last month, from 1,53,117 last year.

However, the company's scooter sales jumped 13.31 per cent to 2,46,750 units, from 2,17,749 in August 2014, it added.

Exports grew 28.62 per cent to 22,060 units against 17,150 in the same month a year ago, it said.
