The National Cadet Corps (NCC) today conferred the rank of honorary colonel to Shashikala Wanjari, Vice-Chancellor of the SNDT University.
The honorary rank of colonel has been conferred by the DG of NCC to a Vice Chancellor of the SNDT University after a gap of 11 years, stated an official communication from the Army.
The rank was conferred on Wanjari by Brig Shardendu, group commander, NCC group headquarters here at a function organised by 5 Maharashtra girls battalion of NCC.
The university was also presented the Vice Chancellor Banner for its contribution in NCC activities and various competitive camps.
