Chandigarh recorded the maximum temperature at 35.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, the MeT Department said here.
In Haryana, Hisar braved the hot weather at 39 degrees Celsius, while mercury in Ambala, Karnal and Narnaul settled at 36.8, 35.4 and 35 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.
In Punjab, maximum temperatures in Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala were recorded at 34.6, 34.7 and 36 degrees Celsius respectively.
Amritsar received 0.4 mm of rainfall, whereas Ludhiana and Patiala received 0.2 and 20.2 mm of rainfall respectively, the weatherman said.
