Altogether 103 Hmar People's Convention (Democratic) militants will be brought here from the Mizoram-Manipur border town of Zilkhawchhuah by state police on Saturday next, an official said today.
State additional secretary for home Lalbiakzama told PTI that the HPC(D) cadres were scheduled to be transported from the border from today, but the state government was forced to defer the exercise due to extreme bad road condition in the border area.
He said that the HPC(D) cadres would lay down their weapons on April 12.
The state government and the HPC(D) had signed an agreement on Monday last to bring lasting peace in the north eastern part of the state adjoining Manipur and to bring amicable and lasting solution to the Hmar imbroglio.
