HPU ammends laws to debar teachers from politics

Himachal Pradesh University's executive council today approved an amendment in varsity laws seeking to debar the teachers from taking part in active politics and contesting elections.
The Vice chancellor of HPU, ADN Bajpai, said, "the teachers should concentrate on teaching and the university would also explore the possibility of imposing restrictions on active participation of teachers in NGOs."
The executive council also discussed the recommendations of Resource Mobilisation Committee threadbare but deferred decision over fee hike till the next meeting of the RMC.
