HR Cabinet approves Rs 45 cr loan proposal to sugar mill

The Haryana Cabinet today gave its approval to a proposal on providing Rs 45-crore soft loan on government guarantee to Naraingarh Sugar Mills to clear payments to sugarcane growers for year 2014-15.
The approval has been given with the condition that HARCO Bank and Agriculture Department will continue to make efforts to explore the possibility of taking any other available collateral security free from any encumbrances from this sugar mill as an additional safety or security to secure the government loan, an official release said here.
The Cabinet met here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar said that with this decision the pending payments of cane growers of Naraingarh for the last crushing season will be cleared soon.
He said that all payments for all other cane growers of the state had already been cleared by every private and cooperative mill in the state.
Notably, opposition parties had in the recent past targeted the BJP Government in the State over outstanding dues to sugarcane growers.

In another decision, the Cabinet gave ex-post facto approval to sanction of raising of loan from the National Housing Bank, New Delhi, and furnishing of State Government guarantee in respect of the loan of Rs 150 crore for construction of 7,602 flats for weaker sections at 16 locations in the State.

The Haryana Government also amended the existing Punjab Poison Possession and Sale Rules 1966 to include nicotine and its salts as poisons at serial number 20 of the schedule, this decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting.
The Cabinet also gave ex-post facto approval for One Time Settlement Scheme of Haryana State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (HSCARDB) and Interest Subvention Scheme 2014 for timely repayments for members of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) of Haryana State Cooperative Apex Bank (HARCO BANK).
