Hry Guv Solanki takes additional charge of Himachal

Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki today today took additional charge of Himachal Pradesh as the incumbent Acharya Devvrat is visiting the US.

Solanki was administered the oath of office by acting Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court Sanjay Karol in a simple ceremony at the Raj Bhawan here.

Devvrat is on leave till August 2 due to his personal visit to the US, an official release said.

Himachal is a small but important state and getting additional charge of Governor of Himachal Pradesh has added a new chapter in my life, said Solanki after taking the oath.

The governor was given an impressive Guard of Honour on the occasion where Chief Secretary Vineet Chaudhary read out the warrant of his appointment.

Solanki's wife Rani Solanki, HP Speaker Rajiv Bindal, former CM Virbhadra Singh, ministers, MLAs, secretaries, senior officers of the state government and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
