"As part of the celebrations, foundation stones of 22 girls colleges will be laid to promote girl education in the state," Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today.
The Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme, which seeks to address gender imbalance and discrimination against the girl child, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Panipat last year.
Infamous for skewed sex ratio, Haryana saw improvement in it with the number of girls crossing 900 mark this year, a development which happened for the first time in 10 years.
Meanwhile, Khattar also said that Jind would be connected with Krishna Circuit being developed in Kurukshetra.
A circular road would be constructed in Jind city at a cost of Rs 110 crore. The road would start from village Ikkas and extend up to Narwana road in west side of Jhanj, Khattar has announced while addressing public meetings at Uklana and Jind.
Speaking at Jind, he announced Rs 20 crore for the construction of a new bus-stand, Rs 25 crore for four-laning of the road from Batakh Chowk to village Niranjan, Rs 10 crore for sewerage, and Rs 10 crore for development of villages of the Assembly area.
The Chief Minister said that by December 25, he would complete his visits to all the 90 Assembly constituencies.
"No former chief minister visited all Assembly segment in two years. They did show up but only during the elections," he said.
Speaking at Jind, Union Minister of Steel Birender Singh, said that the "revolutionary decision of demonetisation taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will benefit the poor".
"This decision has increased the possibility of reduction in interest rates on bank loans," he said, according to an official release.
