The executive committee of the Haryana Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (HSGPC) today directed managers of all parbandhak gurudwaras in Haryana to submit the account books and other records with it by August 2.
The managers have been directed to submit the records at HSGPC headquarters in Gurudwara Neem Sahib here.
At a four-hour meeting of the committee held at the Gurudwara Neem Sahib, it has been decided to proceed against those who do not obey the directive, said President of the committee Jagdish Jhinda at a press conference.
Jhinda said the committee will also write to all managers of banks where accounts of Haryana gurudwaras are maintained, directing them not to entertain any cheques issued by the Amritsar-based SGPC.
"We are informing them that now HSGPC has come into existence after the Haryana Assembly enacted a law in this regard," he said.
Jhinda said the HSGPC will take action against the bank mangers who fail to follow its instructions.
Jhinda said HSGPC strongly condemns the "seize" of gurudwaras in Haryana by supporters of Akali Dal.
He said the committee has urged the Akal Takht, SGPC and Akali Dal to get the gurudwaras evacuated at the earliest.
"The Sikh Sangat of Haryana will not tolerate such forcible occupation of the gurudwaras and would not mind taking any step to get them evacuated."
He, however, emphasised that HSGPC believed in peace and favoured peaceful evacuation of gurudwaras which are presently under the control of Amritsar-based SGPC.
