A 45-year-old woman from city, who has allegedly been suffering from ill health besides harassment at hands of her employer in Riyadh, has been reunited with her daughter here, the police said today.
Khairun Bee was sent to Riyadh on December 14 last year to work as a maidservant by an agent identified as Mohd Moosa.
The DCP (South Zone) V Satyanarayana said Khairun's daughter Hameeda Begum had filed a complaint with the police on March 1 seeking their help to "rescue" her mother.
"Since last three months, Khairun Bee has been suffering from blood pressure, high sugar and other thyroid problems and her employer was not treating her properly," the senior police officer said.
He said Khairun's employer refused to repatriate her to India despite her ill health, and had been harassing her.
"During the course of investigation, police interacted with New Fly well agency office at Mumbai from where Khairun was sent to Riyadh on a job visa. The management of this agency informed about her ill health to their branch office in Riyadh.
"The management of the branch office situated in Riyadh brought the victim lady to their office and she was subsequently sent back to India," the police stated in a release.
Khairun and Hameeda Begum today called on the DCP and thanked the Hyderabad Police for timely intervention in rescuing her, it added.
The DCP said the police will arrest some brokers/agents in this regard.
