"Yesterday, a special drive was conducted in the city against minors driving without valid driving license. 267 cases have been booked and this is highest number in recent times. Today, we conducted counselling session for the parents of those who were caught during the special drive," Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jitender told reporters.
There is a need on creating awareness in this regard, he said, adding the session will continue for next three-days.
Every commuter driving different types of vehicles should be responsible and pedestrians also need to be responsible, he added.
During the sessions, parents/guardians will be informed that under-age driving without driving licenses is violation of MV Act and owners of vehicles (driven by minors) will be liable for such acts, the officer said.
