The 18-year-old singer, who has achieved worldwide global pop success since the release of her debut album 'Pure Heroine' last year, said her mother puts a stop to any histrionics straight away, reported Contactmusic.
"I live at home, in my childhood bedroom. I travel with my mum and if I were to ever say anything a little bit diva-esque, she'd knock it right down," she said.
The 'Royals' singer, who has just compiled the soundtrack for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1', still enjoys living the life of a regular teenager.
"My friends all tease me. We'll go out and get food, and without fail one of them will say, really loud, 'Oh my god! Is that Lorde?' It's so horrible, but they're great.
