Pankaj Tripathi, who recently received a special mention at this year's National Film Awards for his performance in "Newton", says winning the honour has made him "choosy" about role selection.

The 41-year-old actor was awarded for his portrayal of cynical CRPF officer Atma Singh in the Amit V Masurkar directorial, which also bagged the National Award for Best Hindi Film.

"Yes, the special mention has affected my choices as an actor. I have become choosy. I want to do different roles. Earlier, I used to take up any role that came my way.

"But now I feel that I should take time and consider the role before taking it up," Tripathi told PTI on the IIFA green carpet here.

The actor will be next seen in "Stree", where he reunites with Rajkummar Rao. The duo has earlier worked in "Newton" and "Bareilly Ki Barfi". Tripathi is also working in "Drive" with Sushant Singh Rajput.

Talking about his upcoming projects, the actor said, "In 'Stree', I play a character who believes that he knows everything.

"And I play a cop in 'Drive'. It is a different kind of a role. It is not a uniform-wearing character. The film is interesting since it is a thriller," he said.
