Singer Sam Smith wishes he were in a long-term relationship at this point in his life.
The 25-year-old musician says it had a lot to do with his sexual orientation, where being the only homosexual in his village did not leave him in a position to venture into a love affair, reports Billboard.
"I do feel I'm a bit behind in my relationships. I wish I'd been in a long-term relationship by this age. But then, I didn't move to London until I was 19.
"I'd grown up in an area where I was the only gay guy in school, the only gay guy in my village. I'd definitely be emotionally richer now if I'd had a long-term relationship, but if it wasn't easy while I was growing up, it's hardly going to be any easier for me now, is it?" says Smith.
The Oscar-winning singer adds he wants to have a family in future and if he meets someone worthwhile, it will be an added plus.
"I want to be healthy and I want to live as long as possible. I want kids, and I want to open a florist. If a boyfriend comes into that mix somewhere, I'll be happy. But if it doesn't happen, I'll be fine with the flowers," he says.
Smith was recently spotted kissing "13 Reasons Why" actor Brandon Flynn, but neither has confirmed if they were dating.
