I-T searches TMC MP's premises across India

The Income Tax department today conducted searches at the premises of Trinamool Congress MP K D Singh on charges of alleged tax evasion.
Sources said the searches were conducted on over a dozen locations of Singh's business concerns spread across West Bengal, Assam and parts of north India.
The MP was not immediately available for comments.
Singh, who has multiple business interests, also owns a pharmaceutical company.
Sources said I-T teams comprising about 100 sleuths swooped down on the premises late evening and seized documents during the operation which was on till late in the night.
