The 22-year-old singer said she first told her mother Tish about her same-sex feelings eight years ago, reported Contactmusic.
"I remember telling her I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, 'I love them. I love them like I love boys'," she said.
The singer said her admission made her mother feel uncomfortable due to her Christian faith, but she learned to embrace her daughter for who she is.
