After playing Gandalf in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and Magneto in the "X-Men" films, veteran actor Ian McKellen has reportedly become the latest actor to take on the role of Sherlock Holmes.
The 74-year-old actor is said to be playing an older version of the detective in new film "A Slight Trick Of The Mind", reported Daily Express.
The movie will see McKellen reunited with his "Gods And Monsters" filmmaker Bill Condon in an adaptation of Mitch Cullin's novel.
The plot will show Holmes is losing his memory, and without his sidekick Dr Watson, he can only remember fragments of what has happened.
