The General Administration Department (GAD) today notified the suspension of Raju with immediate effect on the order of Bihar Governor Ramnath Kovind.
Raju, a 1991 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, was posted as Secretary SC/ST Welfare department and also Additional Secretary Revenue Board.
The GAD notice stated that the suspension has been ordered in the wake of a case against Raju that was registered with the Vigilance police station on November 29 last year.
The senior IAS officer has been booked by the state Vigilance for alleged financial irregularities in disbursement of scholarship to SC/ST students studying in technical institutions/universities outside the state during the period 2013-14 and earlier.
