IGP reviews law and order scenario in Rajouri, Poonch

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu zone, Rajesh Kumar, today held a review of the security scenario in the districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
On his maiden visit to the two districts, Kumar held a detailed meeting with DIG Danesh Rana and the Rajouri and Poonch SPs, respectively, Mubassir Latifi and Shamsher Hussain, along with senior police officers.
Kumar stressed on the need to strengthen the counter infiltration grid, saying that desperate attempts have been made from across the border to push militants into India.
Although all such attempts had been foiled, there was a need to maintain the utmost vigil, not only at the LoC but also in the interiors of the state, he said.

He called upon all the officers in the area to remain vigilant and ensure there was no law and order problem.
There were some forces at work who were desperate to vitiate the atmosphere in the state, he added.
