IHG appoints Sukumaran as Chief Development Officer in AMEA

Hospitality major InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Rajit Sukumaran as the Chief Development Officer for the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region.
In his new role, Sukumaran will head the development team and lead the Group's growth strategy, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) said in a statement.
He brings over 12 years' experience in development, acquisitions and feasibility from his previous role as Senior Vice President, Acquisitions & Development, Asia Pacific at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, it added.

J Walter Thompson appoints Channa as Sr VP for biz unit PO1 * Communications agency J Walter Thompson India today appointed Varun Channa as the Senior VP and Managing Partner for its business unit - Power of One (PO1) - that handles a various PepsiCo's flagship brands.
"He replaces Babita Baruah who moves to another role within the group. Varun will be based in Gurgaon and will report to Tarun Rai, CEO J Walter Thompson South Asia," the company said in a statement.
Commenting on the appointment, Rai said: "I am sure his passion and his drive will propel the wonderful PepsiCo brands we handle to greater success."

Primero Skills inks pact with bhushan Steel * Primero Skills has entered into a pact with Bhushan Steel under which around 3,000 workers of the steel major will be trained.
"Primero Skills would be conducting recognition of prior learning (RPL) of 3,000 people in the steel sector in Eastern India under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana scheme (PMKVY) being executed by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC)," a press statement said.

FAG Bearings India appoints Dharmesh Arora as MD * Rolling bearings manufacturer FAG Bearings India today announced the appointment of Dharmesh Arora as the Managing Director of the company, effective March 6, 2017.
"Arora is currently the President and CEO of the Schaeffler Group in India, the parent company of FAG Bearings India, a position that he will continue to hold," the company said in a statement.
He will also continue to be the Managing Director of INA Bearings India, another group company of Schaeffler in India.
"We welcome him to this new position to steer the organisation to greater heights," FAG Bearings India Chairman Avinash Gandhi said.
