According to a statement released here by the prestigious journalism school, after acquiring 15.5 acres land in Jammu in May 2016 for building a full-fledged campus, IIMC has now taken possession of 6 hectares (about 15 acres) of land at Amravati.
The possession of the land was given by Maharashtra government to IIMC officials who visited the site, it said. The construction responsibility has been given to the CPWD.
K G Suresh, Director General of IIMC, said with the construction of the new campus, journalism will receive a major fillip in the region and starting of a PG diploma programme in Marathi is under active consideration at the Amravati centre.
