A terminally ill fan got his wish last wish fulfilled as a special screening of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" was arranged for him way before its theatrical release in December.
Neil Hanvey watched the film on August 20 and died two days later, reported Aceshowbiz.
The 36-year-old patient who was told back in April that he had only six to eight months to live died two days after watching the film.
The sad news was broken by St Michael's Hospice on Facebook. The post which was shared on Tuesday, August 23 delivered a message from Hanvey's wife, Andrea.
"On behalf of all our family we would like to thank everyone who has passed on their condolences following Neil's death last night," the message read.
"We would also like to thank the tens of thousands of people who supported the #RogueOneWish campaign. All the messages of love during the past week have given us a great deal of comfort during a very difficult time," she continued. "We would also like to thank everyone at St Michael's Hospice, especially Amy Duncan, without who #RogueOneWish would not have happened."
"Rogue One", set to release on December 27, was screened for Hanvey after an online campaign launched by his Andrea and healthcare assistant Amy Duncan went viral and got support from the legendary "Star Wars" actor Mark Hamill, who re-tweeted a Twitter post about the campaign.
