Illegal arms unit unearthed, 1 arrested

Police today claimed to have unearthed an illegal arms manufacturing unit here following the arrest of a man and seizure of dozens of pistols from his possession.
Acting on a tipoff, police raided the premises of the unit at Jolla village under Budhana police station and seized five pistols, one gun and 16 semi-processed pistols, SHO D K Tyagi said.
Khalid has been arrested while three others managed to escape, he said, adding search is on for the rest of the accused.
The unit has been supplying illegal arms in the area, he said.
