Three north corporation employees including two engineers have been arrested by Delhi Government's Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) allegedly for not taking any action against illegal construction in Rohini area.
Assistant Engineer Jagat Bhushan Meena, Junior Engineer Sunil Kumar Paharia, and Beldar (construction worker) Dhananjay Kumar of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) have been arrested for not taking any action against illegal construction in Sector 15-16 of Rohini, said S S Yadav, Additional Commissioner of ACB.
An FIR was registered at ACB yesterday against the arrested employees, under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the IPC, concerning abuse of power by government officials in Rohini zone in connivance with builders and other persons, he said.
A complaint was received by ACB alleging "large-scale" illegal construction at DDA Janta flats in Sector 15-16 of Rohini, by private builders acting in connivance with NDMC officials, Yadav said.
During investigations, ACB found the charges to be true. "Inspections and photographs established that illegal construction at Janta flats is going on due to nexus between corporations officials, builders and other government officials," the officer added.
