Impeachment notices against Arunachal Speaker, Dy Speaker

The Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly secretariat has received two impeachment motion notices against Speaker and Deputy Speaker and is currently examining all factors before placing it in the Business Accounts Committee (BAC) for necessary decision, Speaker Nabam Rebia said here today.
"The matter is under scrutiny and the Assembly secretary is examining the nature of the allegations," he told PTI.
A total of 16 members of the House have signed the impeachment motion notice against the Deputy Speaker on November 16 last, while as many as 13 legislators have signed the notice against the Speaker on November 19, Rebia said.

"It is the prerogative of the secretary to decide on the matter and he will place before the BAC if at all the required.
"The BAC will place it in the business of the House if the notices are worth for admission during the five-day Winter Session of the Assembly scheduled from January 14 next," he added.
