Improper to link 'impure blood' statement with politics: Soren

A day after he made "impure blood" jibe at his party MLAs crossing over to other parties, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today claimed that facts were distorted and inappropriately placed in media as his sole intention behind the comment was to promote blood donation.
The chief minister told a press conference here that he always maintained decency in the political field and never showed disrespect to others and it would be improper to link his statement with politics.
"I have seen in newspapers today that my statement was wrongly published due to a misunderstanding," Soren said.
The chief minister said yesterday's statement was made in the context of promoting blood donation.

He claimed that what he intended to say was that there was no need to disturb a person from donating blood as fresh blood would generate in the body after donation.
"My inclination towards promoting blood donation is nothing new and I was the first chief minister to organise a blood donation camp for government employees at the Secretariat in Project Bhawan," he said.
Soren said, he himself had voluntarily donated blood several times and wanted to involve more people in the blood donation campaign in the state.
Reacting to a question about JMM MLA Bidyut Baran Mahato, who crossed over to BJP to contest the ensuing parliamentary election from Jamshedpur constituency, Soren had said yesterday that it was better to allow impure blood to flow out and provide space for infusion of new blood.
