The five-day non-ticketed annual festival that started yesterday with a soulful music performance by lyricist -singer Swanand Kirkire and Jasleen Royal will have its closing ceremony on January 17.
"It's enchanting that in a place like Bombay, there is a festival like Khidkiyaan which gives us an opportunity to participate with theatre... I recommend Khidkiyaan very highly to all people who are interested in story telling and any kind of performing arts," Imtiaz said in a statement.
The inauguration ceremony was hosted by actress Tisca Chopra.
His father T C Chhabra has produced the plays to be presented during the festival.
Other Bollywood celebrities who attended first day of the gala theatre fest were Ragini Khanna, Yashpal Sharma, and Vijay Raaz.
