Inclusion of Jats in BC list: NCBC to hold public hearings

National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) has scheduled public hearings from February 10- 13 over the issue of inclusion of Jats in the Central List of Backward Classes for nine states.
The states in question are: Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
An official release here said that the public hearings will be held at Siri Fort Auditorium with stakeholders and associations, organisations and individuals from the Jat community having been requested to present their case at the forum.
Separate slots have been earmarked for those who would like to speak in favour of the proposal and for those opposed to the move, the statement added.
