"I am pleased to continue to work with Indian leaders and the Indian American community to strengthen ties between the world's largest democracies, India and the United States," Congressman Brad Sherman, said after meeting Singh at the Capitol Hill this week.
"India is a strategic ally of the United States," Sherman said in a statement, adding that he and Singh discussed enhancing economic, security and cultural ties between India and the US.
He is also an active member of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian-Americans.
Over the years, Sherman has met with a wide range of Indian leaders from many organisations and parties, including the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
