India, Bhutan agree to strengthen cooperation in farm sector

India and Bhutan today agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation in the field of agriculture and allied sectors.
"Utmost priority will be accorded by the Government of India to various proposals which were discussed by the Prime Minister during his recent visit to Bhutan," Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh assured his Bhutanese counterpart Lyonopo Yeshey Dorji.
In the meeting, the Minister also laid stress on having warm relationships based on shared strategic perspective, transparency, utmost trust and sensitivity to each others' vital interest, an official statement said.
Bhutan Agriculture Minister Dorji said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mantra of "Bharat to Bhutan" and "Bhutan to Bharat" will be the cornerstone of India-Bhutan's relationship.
He invited Indian Agriculture Minister to visit Bhutan in the near future to see positive impact of development interventions with India's support in Bhutan.
