India eves, Spain play out a draw in 1st Valencia Test Series

Indian eves and Spain were locked in a goalless draw in the first match of Valencia Test Series in Spain, which is being played in preparation for the FIH World League Round 2 to be held in New Delhi from March 7-15.
Indian women, including debutants Punam Barla and Renuka Yadav, put in all their efforts to find gaps in opponent's defence but they could not get past the Spain defenders.
Indian women, led by captain Ritu Rani, had a couple of good scoring chances -- both field goal opportunities -- but they failed to convert them.
While they failed to breach their rival's defence, Indian eves also ensured that their strong defence and coordination, twarted all efforts by Spain to score. The hosts had no opportunity to beat the Indian goalie and reach the nets.

The next game of the series will be played tomorrow.
