India is not behind any country when it comes to sports, Union Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh Sunday.
"We are giving tough competition to other countries at various international sports championships. In the recently held Asian Games, our stars bagged a number of gold and silver medals," Singh said at the ninth Champions Run 2018 event here.
India is not behind any other nation when it comes to sports, he added.
India bagged 15 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze medals in the Asian Games 2018 held in Indonesia.
Further, the minister said one must understand the importance of sports in life and join some games to remain fit.
A healthy body and mind is key to a healthy nation, he said, urging the youngsters to devote some time to exercise each day.
