India settled for a bronze medal after narrowly missing the final berth of the Snooker World Cup here today.
Up against a seasoned Scotland side, India, comprising 12-time world champion Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta, went down 3-4 in the best-of-seven semifinal match.
Scotland, which had defeated hosts and defending champions China 'A', consisted of heavyweights in four-time world champion John Higgins and top snooker player Stephen Maquire.
Placed third in the prestigious event, this is India's best finish in the competition.
